2 More Weeks!

We got back from the peri's office at 2pm. I left the house at 9am. It's an hour's drive each way. Plus, when the nanny was parking the vehicle she saw my peri with her keys in her hand. Sure enough, when I checked in they said she had just left for the hospital. Plus, she had 2 emergency work-ins for failed cerclages which she rapidly pointed out "were NOT my stitches." :-) Meaning, she did not put them in.

Anyway, as for my stitch, it's still holding. I'm down to only .5cm above the stitch and 2cm below it. I sure wish there was more cervix to work with, but she's ok with me waiting 2 more weeks to see her. And, I can attend Hannah's b'day party on the 31st!!

Whew, it's been a long day already and I can't believe I'm happy to be back in bed.

Easy Way to Help the Emmazing Grace Foundation

GoodSearch cause banner

What if the Emmazing Grace Foundation earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Now it can!

GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine, with a unique social mission... every time you use GoodSearch, money is generated for the Emmazing Grace Foundation.

GoodSearch donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities selected by its users. The pennies quickly add up. For example, if 1,000 (our organization) supporters searched just twice a day, we would receive an estimated $7,300 per year to help fund our program.

What's great is that you use GoodSearch just as you would any search engine. Again, it's powered by Yahoo!, so you get proven, high-quality results.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Emmazing Grace Foundation as the charity you want to support.

The more people who use this site, the more money we'll earn so please spread the word!

All the way from the UK!

The morning I had the best surprise! In the mail were 2 packages all the way from the UK! Denise did the 2 tiny gowns in memory of her daughter, Emma Joan. Jenny make the beautiful preemie blessing shawl. Both of these ladies really touched my heart this morning! Thank you so very much!

The above bunting and gown were made from some of the donated yarn. I'm working on a bonnet now to match the gown.

Exactly!!

This is a news article in today's Houston Chronicle. It details the plight of an 11 year old boy that has fought to have his stillborn sister buried properly. This is exactly why the Emmazing Grace Foundation was formed. What character this young child has!!

Angel Wrap

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I finally finished Aunt B's Angel Wrap. Whew! It took me a while to do.

Tidbits

Am I the only one that has difficulty coming up with post titles?? I'm not really a "words" person anyway. Throw some numbers at me and I'm a-ok, but don't make me spell.

Anyhoo, hubby and Hannah have headed to the airport to pick up Mom. She wanted to come out last weekend, but was afraid that I would be hospitalized this week and wanted to save her trip for a time we most needed her. But, since I'm still at home, she couldn't resist. I'll send some of the yarn that Frauntene donated back with her.

When I logged on this morning, I saw Marcia's BEAUTIFUL gown she's sending to Amy in Idaho. Marcia, thank you so very much not only for the gown set, but for remembering my Emma Grace. It's gorgeous and once again, I'm jealous that I won't get to see it in person. Send it on to Idaho, though, because that's most important. I'll let Amy know that it's headed her way.

Amy is turning out to be a very good friend and is joining efforts with the Emmazing Grace Foundation. She has contacted Bingham Memorial and they are in extreme need also. The RN that she spoke with says that most often they wrap babies in cloths and tie a ribbon around them. This breaks my heart. How thankful that I am to have our worlds collide so that we can assist bereaved families in Idaho!

Amy and I are going to do our very best to let all that are donating know when their package arrives and issue a tax-exempt receipt. If we miss you, please don't hesitate to let me know. The response to my request has been incredible! We plan to add the Idaho hospitals to our on-going donation sites. Another reader that is originally from Idaho Falls has contacted me. She lives in Boise now, but would like to join our efforts. With her helping Amy, I think we can make this successful.

Lastly, I'd like to post the link to the EGF's MSN group. After I was constantly sending photos and links to patterns to Amy, she volunteered to create it. :-) She and I worked on it almost all day yesterday and it's far from complete, but you know I'm never patient enough to wait to share. It will be a great place to keep the foundation's news and updates current. I try to do it here, but when the MSN group takes off, I can make those types of posts there instead of here and they'll be linked to the Emmazing Grace Foundation's main website.

Thanks again to all of you that have so generously donated and supported me and the Emmazing Grace Foundation!!

Urgent Need

I just met a woman online, Amy. Amy is in the hospital with an incompetent cervix. She has learned to knit and puts together kits, which includes disposable cameras and stuffed animals, for her hospital. Her hospital is very low on supplies. They need:
1 - Buntings/wraps for babies too small to dress. They only have 2 at this moment.
2 - Hats, booties, and blankets for fullterm babies. They have a lot of low income families that deliver there with nothing for their baby.
3 - Just about anything else. :-)

Items can be sent to her home address and her husband delivers them when he visits her at the hospital. Her address is:
Amy Dutton
2125 Alan St. #3
Idaho Falls, ID 83404

We'll be sending what we have this week. Since we just made a donation, we don't have much, though.

Thanks Ya'll!!

A better report

Yesterday we got a better report. My cervix is about the same, which is good enough for me. I found out that I actually have 2cm of closed cervix below the stitch. So, if I funnel all the way to the stitch, I'll still have 2 cm of closed cervix. Whew! That makes me feel better. The only bad news is that I had a contraction while there. It was painless so maybe all is ok. The peri wasn't too alarmed. Sunday was a bad day and I feared contractions, but things calmed down. I now know that they probably were contractions. I don't have another appt for 2 weeks. She's going to be out of the office next week and she's comfortable with how things are. So, I'm feeling a bit rejuvenated and ready for 2 more weeks!

I finished this hat, my first hat, several days ago. It's the Easy Hat Pattern from the Carewear site. And, yes, it's easy but on the large side. I used some donated yarn that I can't remember the name of and I'm not getting up to look. LOL!

In other news, Spring is Springing around here. I still can't use my new camera very well, but it sure can zoom. He's a photo of pollen developing on a pine tree out my bedroom window. I took this photo last Thurs.

Oh, I'm working on Aunt B's Angel Wrap. It's going to be really cute, but is taking me a while. I think it's the hardest thing I've attempted so far.

Thanks to Tuscan, AZ

Yesterday I received a beautiful purple bereavement gown and bonnet from someone in Tuscan, AZ. The last name on the return label is not familiar to me. I will send a written thank you, but it may take a few days. I don't like when I send someone and never hear if it arrived safely. So....to whoever you are, thank you for the beautiful gown. It truly is beautiful and I am excited to see crochet. I think I've officially confirmed that I work too tight. My apologies for not taking a picture. I don't want to get up.

Lastly, I'd like to publicly offer up my prayers to the families of the kids killed in Enterprise, AL yesterday. They are experiencing an unbearable pain! Enterprise isn't too far from my hometown.
