Sharing the craft

MeMe (my mom) gave Hannah a Hello Kitty sewing machine for Christmas. She really wanted a pink one, but I refused to get her a cheap toy one. This one is by Janome and works pretty good. It's a bit stiff, but for a child it's a good first one.

This weekend we worked on potholders. We finished one, but it's a bit too small. I'll edit this post when I tweak the pattern and get the size that I like. They'll be Valentine's gifts for MeMe.

I'M SO GLAD YOUR PASSING DOWN YOUR LOVE FOR SEWING TO HANNAH. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS POST. I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH. THANKS FOR SHARING THE PICTURES WITH US, I FEEL LIKE I'M THERE TO.
I GET TO DO THIS VERY SAME THING IN A WEEK OR TWO,I CAN'T WAIT. ONE OF MY OLDEST SONS CLASSMATES HAS A NEARLY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER THAT WANTS TO CROCHET AND SEW, GUESS WHO GETS TO TEACH THEM BOTH? WE'LL START OFF WITH PREEMIE HATS I THINK. SHE WANTS TO MAKE THINGS TO DONATE, SO I'LL DO MY BEST TO SEE THAT SHE CAN.

that looks like a great first machine. She's so cute sitting there with it.

What a wonderful gift! My daughters both received their machines from their grandparents. I have such great memories of teaching them to sew. I don't know if my in-laws realized they weren't only giving sewing machines, but memories.
