Gown is complete

Here's the gown. I wish I had taken a picture of it next to my hand so that you could get a good judge of size. It's pretty small and doesn't quite fit Hannah's doll. It's not fully closed in the back.

For those of you that crochet, I have a question. In the picture on Bev's site (see link in below post) the shells look smooth. The way I do them make them look more like ruffles. It's pretty, but I'm not sure if it's the correct method of making them. I think I may know what would fix it, but am not sure. When I turn the work, I pick up the loop on the opposite side, farther from me. Should I be picking up the loop closer to me so that my new row will always be on the front side of the dress? I'm not sure I'm making any sense. If not, I will try to take some pictures. My camera battery is dying, though, so need to get some more.

Better

Bunting #2 and much improved! I added a little embellishment with a cross.

Editted to Add:
I forgot to say something special about the yarn I used. My MIL passed away in Feb '03, 2 months before Hannah's birth. She was a very talented crafter and could crochet. When we were home at Thanksgiving, I asked step-MIL if there was any yarn left from my MIL's stash. I was saddened to learn that it was all being stored in the barn. It was filthy, but I brought it home anyway. After asking around, Chris from Bev's Charity Challenge advised that I put it in panty hose and send it through the washing machine. Presto!! I all cleaned up beautifully and now I can carry on my MIL's legacy a bit by making some bereavement items with her yarn.

My First Bunting

My first bunting is complete. I finished it this afternoon. The more I worked the better I got with my stitches. They got more and more uniform. In the below picture (my apologies for the quality of the photo, I still haven't quite figured out my camera) I think you can see that about half way up things start to look a lot better.
